ABOUT BILL

LAVERTY-logo-transparent_edited.png

Most of Bill's professional career and philanthropy work has focused on two things: helping children and education. Bill is the former Founder and CEO of Partner Healthcare IT, one of the largest Healthcare IT (HIT) Consulting and Staffing Companies in the US with operations in over 40 states and abroad.  Bill founded and managed the HIT Division which helped to transition Partner from a local IT staffing company to one of the largest HIT Consulting and Staffing Firms in the world.   Partner Healthcare IT was voted by Staffing Industry Analysts and INC Magazine as top 10 fastest growing Healthcare Consulting and Staffing firms in the US.

Partner Healthcare IT’s areas of concentration were implementing Epic in children’s hospitals, University-based/teaching hospital systems, and training healthcare professionals (i.e. MDs, Nurses, Technicians) on how to effectively utilize this complex software.

In November 2013, Bill sold Partner Healthcare IT to a private equity firm in New York called Snow Phipps.  After successfully merging two of Snow Phipps HIT corporate acquisitions (Partner Healthcare IT and HCTec), Bill retired in July 2014.

Since then, Bill has been devoted to philanthropy work serving underprivileged children.  He is on the board of NewPath Child and Family Services, formerly St. Joseph Orphanage.   Bill and his wife Caren Laverty, have established two scholarship funds for children:

  1. The NewPath Move Forward Scholarship - which pays for the tuition of any NewPath student, in the Independent Living Program, who completes high school and goes onto college or trade school.

  2. The Laverty Family Engineering & Computer Science Scholarship at Ohio Northern University.  This scholarship will be awarded to minority students who are typically under-represented in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) related majors.

Bill graduated from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.  He married his college sweetheart, Caren, and they have been married for 34 years and have two grown children who are married: Charlene (daughter), Tom (son-in-law), Joseph (son), and Heather (daughter-in-law).  Bill loves the Sycamore Community where he raised his family and has been a taxpayer for over 27 years.  He is an avid cyclist, triathlete, and US & Irish History buff.
